Triathlon. It’s on.

I’m doing a triathlon. It’s somewhere between a Sprint and an Olympic — 1000 meter swim, 35km bike, 8km run. It’s a triathlon in Boone, NC.

The Program
I have an interesting beginner triathlon training program. It has a 10% increase followed by a rest week on the 4th week. It has increasingly difficult days — 2 short, 2 medium, and 2 long. There is a rest day between the long days. The program isn’t going to get me winning any medals, but rather ending it confidently at the back-of-the-pack. As competitive as I am about intellectual things, I’m OK with this goal.
